The Race for the 2010 NSSA National Title Begins at Sebastian Inlet with a visit from CJ Hobgood and Occy

Imagine sitting on the beach. You’re setting your watch for you heat. Stretching out in your orange singlet, waiting for the horn to sound when up walks CJ Hobgood, Occy and the youngest kid to ever snag the coveted SURFING Magazine poster when he was 13, an east coast legend, Phillip Watters. The horn blows and you’re now paddling out with visions of glory dancing through your head. Of Occy being carried up the beach. Of CJ at Teahupo’o. Of Phillip’s patented shove-its and punts. That’s gonna be you. You’re the next big thing…all your have to do is make this heat…

While that may not be the case exactly, the kids were greeted with a visit from the pros and treated to an Expression Session midday that rejuvenated the competitive spirit for all the groms. After a long summer the kids in Florida were ready to show the pros their stuff and kick off the 2010 race to the prestigious NSSA National Title. Below are the results of this week’s contest and the leaders in the east. The race to the National title is officially underway.
