You ever seen a kid in a candy shop? Elated and bright eyed they gaze and wander in awe at endless treats. Well, that pretty much sums up Corey Wilson’s demeanor at all times. So you can only imagine his appearance when given the opportunity to shoot one of the best waves in the world from the perch of a moving helicopter – quite literally, a photographer’s candy shop.

Below are fourteen images documenting the pristine aerial sights of J-Bay from a day leading up to this year’s contest. The unique perspective alone is delightfully refreshing, but what satisfies even more is knowing that behind the trigger of each and every one of these photos, there was a full-grown man with a big, dumb, wholeheartedly childish smile on his face. Do enjoy.
