What does your telephone have in common with your father’s sneakers? There’s a decent chance both were made in Taiwan. The lovely island country/not-country off China has one hell of a reputation for production. It’s rep for surf, however, isn’t quite as glittery as Apple. But Taiwan can and Taiwan does surf. Here are the photos from Australians Eli Steele, Luke Hynd and Kai Hing’s jaunt to the island formerly known as Formosa — apparently barrels are made there too.
