Heat of the Day:Quarterfinal 1: The boys kiss the sky. Brett Simpson opens up the NSSA OSMAS Nationals sticking a frontside grab 360, while fellow aerialists Hank Gaskell and Jeremy Johnston land respectable airs of their own. Pat Gudauskas narrowly misses landing ”the Gorkin Flip” and gets a free pass into the next round despite landing no aerials in his first heat.
Performer of the Day: Brett Simpson. Ola Eleogram flew all over the place in the second quarterfinal, but Brett’s effortless frontside grab 3′ was the real airshow-stopper.Highest Score: Brett Simpson’s frontside grab 360 earned him an 8.0.Shocker: Pat Gudauskas gets a wildcard slot into the next round after almost landing ”the Gorkin Flip.”Quotable: ”Oh, ohh…. aarrghhh!” — shocked and disappointed spectator mesmorized by Pat Gudauskas’ flip attempt.MOVERS (those who advanced on to the O-SMAS Semifinals):
