When: Saturday, October 6th Ho’okipa Beach
This event is held every year in memory of Steve Cooney, one of Maui’s premier aerial surfers who passed away in an automobile accident in 2004. Over 100 competitors and approximately 1200 spectators enjoyed an awesome day of waves and fun!
The waves were perfect, about 3 to 4 ft. and the conditions were all time, with light and variable winds.
Festivities included…Keiki Games, Scavenger Hunt, Beach Clean-up, Free Pizza donated from Flatbread Co., Music,
and of course, world class surfing from some of the planet’s best surfers. The results are as follows…
