Great wave, though not even close to the best ridden at Lowers for one reason: POWER. Difference between Dane Reynolds and the other whippersnappers is power. I could see Jordy or Dane going out and doing four consecutive radical airs at Lowers just to prove the point.

  • Kaipo Gomes

With all due respect to Mike Parsons he is not in a position to claim best wave “ever” surfed at Lowers by his new employer. One simple word excludes him from the discussion, bias. With Kolohe paying Parsons somewhere near $180,000.00 to “coach” him he is no longer allowed to make such a claim. Without some instant replays of waves ridden by Slater, Jordy, Dane and others at Lowers during the heat of battle that is way too heavy a claim. From this point forward Snips will need a disclaimer on his “claims” related to his employer, Kolohe Andino. Someone needs to point this out.

Um, loose the Hawaiian name “brother.” You ain’t Hawaiian, nor are your roots. Kolohe? Where did daddy find the name, ABC store?

  • CornHole

Yes, & while we’re at it, all Hawaiian dudes with names like David, Johnny, or Mark should loose those names, too. What a bunch of posers, eh BRA??

  • Parker

Taras’s work is head and shoulders above Jimmielame.

i’m backing snips here, that was sick. everyone else is a liar.

  • Jimmicane

Look for the re-match. This Sunday. NSSA Nationals. Huntington Beach. Taras vs. Jimmicane vs. Sherman. Who will take the title of best contest photographer on the Surfing Magazine staff? The anticipation is killing! It’s gonna be a battle!

  • jojo

oh, all you jimmicane haters are just jealous that the guy has a dream job and you obviously don’t. most of the action photos from contests look more or less the same because they’re shot from the same location on the beach with lenses of similar length. pete taras just does a few b&w conversions and adds fake film grain. (a photoshop filter). big deal. doesn’t make his photos that much better. just means he spends a little more time on the computer.
