Surfing and helicopters have gone together since Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore kneeled on a smoldering beach near a Vietnamese delta and said, “You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” Before that he said, “You either surf or fight!” And before that he came streaming, sliding out of the sky in a gorgeous army green helicopter shooting up the entire Vietnamese world.
Above, JOB is shot from a helicopter at Dreamland.
On July 17, if you are at Kuta Beach in Bali, you can join him (at G-Land) by riding there in a helicopter. Red Bull is hosting a competition wherein competitors paddle out to a distant buoy on their shortboards. First three to reach it get winched up into the very belly of an airborne beast and flown to perfect barrels (at G-Land).
“Flight of the Valkyries” plays the entire time. Da da da da daaaaa da.

YIkes.
Not to be pedantic, but… isn’t it *Ride* of the Valkyries?
from what i saw in mexico last week, one would think JOB no longer endorsed paddling…..
Is Jamie still a professional surfer? That’s cute.
is he like all fat now and shit or something?
