Prominent Maui surfer and Ho’okipa regular Steve Cooney was killed in a single vehicle crash near Hai’ku, Maui this morning. The newly acquired truck he was driving went off a winding road and overturned, pinning him underneath. He was 30 years old.
Condolences go out to Steve’s friends and family, from the entire SURFING staff.
