Name: Frankie Harrer
Hometown: Malibu, Ca
Age: 12
School: CAVA-7th grade 4.0 GPA
Sponsors: Billabong, Von Zipper, Ocean & Earth, Sex Wax, Watermans Sunscreen

With such mind-blowing performances from the ladies on the Gold Coast this past week, we found it appropriate to celebrate a girl who will probably give the girls of today a run for their money tomorrow.

Malibu’s Frankie Harrer is having a breakthrough 2010-2011 season. Chew on these stats:

· Undefeated in Gold Coast Women’s (all ages) and Girls (14 & under) categories

· Current ratings leader of Southwest Open Girls (14 & under category)

· 15-win record over the 2010-11 season

Frankie’s confidence and skill is growing so quickly that she’s beginning to consistently make finals in the red-hot Southwest Open Women’s division. Although she spends most of her time in the water around her home in Malibu, her family’s house in Hawaii allows her to acclimate to heavier waves. Tune in for Frankie’s first WT heat in early March, 2018.

it makes me sad that she’s already home-schooled. Why can’t kids be kids for a while still?

I want to say Frankie chose her path with support of her family! She is an amazing girl who knows what she wants and works hard to get it. She also has a ton of friends and is so loved by her family! Her other siblings attend school by their choice and are equally amazing! This coming from a close friend of the family! Good job Frankie! Love your Hawaiian Aunty!!

I think when a parent recognizes that their child is blessed with an exceptional talent at such a young age, they need to allow the child to reach their fullest potential. Home-schooling allows these prodigies to thrive and there are so many different independent study programs now that allow kids and even college students to get their education while focusing on what will most likely become their profession. The surf industry will have many open doors for Frankie. She’s a nice kid and I wish all the best for her.
