IT’S NO DOUBT that the North Shore of Oahu continually churns out higher-caliber surfers than anywhere else. The seven miles of world-class waves give new talent the proper conditioning to become future world champions. And today, Dax McGill is leading the latest generation of female Hawaiian rippers onto the big stage. Last year the nation witnessed her potential when she emerged victorious in the Open Girls division of the 2011 Nationals in Huntington. And she placed in the Explorer Womens and Explorer Girls finals to boot. This season, her skill level continues to climb. At Hawaii event No. 7 at Banyans, Dax made a huge statement with a clean sweep of the Open Womens, Open Girls and Explorer Girls divisions. She will doubtlessly be a national title contender in 2012. Keep an eye out for her; with a great name like Dax, she will be hard to forget.
