IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT EZEKIEL LAU IS STILL 18. BUT HE IS, AND THE KID IS HUNGRY. After finishing his 2011 season short of a Nationals crown, Zeke held his own with the big boys, racking up two ASP four-star wins before year’s end. Zeke has carried the momentum into his final year as an NSSA competitor, winning the Open Men’s division of the 2012 Hawaii Regional Championships at Kewalo Basin with a flurry of 9-plus rides. Zeke, who is a four-time National Champion and a senior at Kamehameha Schools, will head into Nationals as the No. 1 contender for the premier Open Men’s title. And with an uncharacteristic pre-final loss at Nationals last year, you can bet Ezekiel Lau is hungrier than ever to end his amateur career with an Open Men’s win and the Mayor’s Cup in hand.
