I do think Bobby is acting like a spoiled chield, pissing his career away, and talking a lot while doing nothing to change the things he doens’t like on tour…Im happy to see the ASP putting him out, but I have to agree with AEgir up here…Why didnt punish those other guys like that to?
You know, I don’t always like my job either – and pro surfer is a “job”, btw – but if threw a bunch of F-bombs at my boss, or a client, I’d be booted too. The ASP is not about surfing; it’s a business, plain and simple. If you hate fast food, don’t work at or patronize Mickey D’s. But don’t work there and complain because it’s not a fine dining restaurant or eat there and be outraged because there’s not nutrition. How long before we see Bobby on the news a la A.I.? I think we saw the beginning of a meltdown. Hey Bobby – go back to school and go get a job that makes a difference. You sell T-shirts and shorts; don’t kid yourself. You are qualified to work at a PacSun, not to be a spokesman. Enjoy yourself.

whenever you see photo’s of american cities they always look like shit – does the goverment not spend money on the upkeep of these cities. if you don’t live in the burbs with your suv & picket fence you seem to be left behind? i know america is struggling economically but it seems these places really are going to ruin (and not just recently) more money should be spent on americans not american wars

I grew up on the streets where these “lifestyle” photos were shot.
it is not Long Beach, it is Far Rockaway , Queens, NYC.
I spent 22 years walking those streets and to see them glorified in a surf mag is terrible.

First off I’d like to express that Bobby is and has been one of my favorite surfers for a long time. He is smooth like a panther, powerful like a boxer and has natural instincts both frontside and backside that you will rarely see in any performer. I like that he has always been a tell it like it is guy. A man who will say what he feels without sugar coating. Another rare thing in this kiss ass politically correct era. I agree with his sentiments about the tour. Do I agree with his method? While it raised my hairs and gave me an adrenaline rush and a buzz of rebellion I also realized he knew exactly what he was doing. He got something off his chest that was burning inside for some time. He deserves to be able to express himself. He has earned at least that much by the dues he’s paid. If you like what he said cool, and if not cool. But it’s his life to do what he wants with it and if he wants to put it all on the line to go on a webcast after winning a heat and say what’s on his mind then I think we should respect him for having the soul and balls to follow his path wherever that takes him. Good luck Bobby! We love you man! You are the real version of a rebel in a modern day era full of bought out sold out kiss asses who worship money above everything else. I will always respect a man who stands up to the system even if it is in less than eloquent language. I love the raw power of truth even if it does contain some f bombs! Peace!!!
