Billabong teams up with New Era for Special Andy Irons Hat

The AI hat in all its glory

If you surf the internet, you've probably come across an advertisment or two for the Andy Irons Limited Edition Hat in the past few months. "What the heck is that?" you might have asked yourself.

Well, here it is.

Andy now has joined a unique club. He and Billabong have partnered with New Era Caps to produce a limited edition run of Andy Irons "3-time world champ" hats. Each one comes in its own case and is authenticated and signed by Andy Irons himself.

SURFINGthemag.com recently checked out one of these hats to see what all the hype was about.

Upon seeing the box, it was immediatly clear that this was something special. As part of New Era's "Capture the Flag", the production run on these hats is limited to 288. When you factor in that a lot of people close to AI and Billabong will probably get one, it is whittled down to a grand total of 72 that are available to the public.

The hat has a checkered front, similar to the AI board shorts that Billabong produced earlier in the year.

Other sports stars that have their own signature caps include skater Bucky Lasek, Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, and the NBA's Chris Webber.
