Quiksilver and Mazda have partnered together to promote the new Mazda 5. Quiksilver was given several cars to paint with their own unique branding and paint jobs. The special edition cars will be touring all of the coasts throughout the Continental United States this year. Look for them at an event near you.
The Mazda / Quiksilver campaign is focused at a market that is looking for a car that can carry all their gear, boards, friends and accomidate their expanding lifestyles. Basically, it's a car that gives you all the features of a mini van without all the dorkiness associated with one.
SURFING was given full access to the vehicles and took one for a quick test-drive. It fit all the gear that you could think about fitting into it, and still managed to sit several large magazine staffers comfortably (and with the growing size of most magazine staffers waistlines, that's not an easy task!)
Heck, while we were at Quiksilver headquarters for the grand unveiling of the partnership, we even got the lovely Lisa Anderson to lay in the car and show us just how roomy the cargo area is. Essentially, you can fit several of your boards in the back, all your wetsuits, a 4-time womens world champ, and a few portly magazine employees, without feeling like your driving some lame mini-van. What more could you ask for?
