Sneak Preview: October 2008 Issue

Taking a peek inside the upcoming October 2008 issue of SURFING; Our 3rd Annual Green Issue
By Evan Slater

SURFING MAGAZINE’S THIRD ANNUAL GREEN ISSUE (OCTOBER 08)

ON SALE THIS WEEK

Be sure to check out our third installment of an issue that’s entirely dedicated to bettering and protecting our oceans. This year, we travel deep into Baja to explore the mounting development plans and why we might be at fault this time. From there, we take you to the trenches of Sumba, where Rob Machado pitches in and helps dig wells for the Hurley H20 project at one of the world’s best lefts. Finally, SURFING editor Nathan Myers hitches a ride with Dave Rastovich as he travels the coast of Chile, spreading his anti-whaling message and surfing some slabs on the side.

It’s all in here, plus a ton more from the green screen. Get it now before it biodegrades.

Surfing finally hired a really photo editor (Pete Taras) I can not believe Steve Sherman was the photo editer. A portrait photog as a surfing photo editer. You got to be kidding me. This guy Steve Sherman has to pay his dues he should be swimming out in the lineup at backdoor, pipe and let us judge his photos.Steve Sherman has not gone over the falls once. I'm stoked to see Pete Taras as the new Surfing Photo Editer he does a fine job in the water photo's and on the desk picking photo's. Mr.Sherman till this day I have not seen 1 backdoor, offthe wall ,pipeline shot from you. It is time Steve Sherman to pay your dues.

Re: James Taylor comment - its easy to criticise another but where are your pipe shots? What makes you so high and mighty to criticise another persons efforts when we've seen none of your own? Maybe if you could step up and even come close to the photo credentials or either Steve Sherman or Pete Taras then you would possibly be in a position to criticise. Until then, keep the lame comments to yourself.
