Hurley and Contrast Magazine are proud to present the second annual The Anti-Canvas: a showcase of boardshort art for charity on Friday Dec. 3, 2010 at SOHO Mixed Media Bar which is located on 80 South Pauahi Street.

This event will be held in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk and all of the proceeds will benefit the Lokahi Giving Project, Junior Lifeguard Program and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Hurley will utilize a “sublimation” process to make a one-of-a-kind board short with the art that will be auctioned off for the charities. This manufacturing method uses a heat transferring process that preserves the integrity and details of the design.

This year, Hurley is upping the ante in this charity event. Hurley will award a $1,000 to the artist whose boardshort art generates the highest bid of the evening. There are 38 artists who will be donating their artwork to the The Anti-Canvas: a showcase of boardshort art for charity.

Last year, more than 30 local and international renowned artists submitted their artwork and watched it come to life on a pair of Hurley boardshorts. The event raised more than $5,000 for local charities and gave artists a whole new canvas to express themselves.

This event promises to be a unique experience to join art and youth communities in Hawai‘i for a great cause. Here is a list of the confirmed artists for the second annual The Anti-Canvas: a showcase of boardshort art for charity.

Attached is a flyer with a list of the participating artists and preview of the show.
