One down one to go.

The Billabong Pro Maui is over and congratulations go out to Steph Gilmore (AUS) for topping off her rookie season with an ASP World Title and Billabong Pro Maui title to end off the year. The only thing missing was the {{{Vans}}} Triple Crown title, which went to Megan Abubo (HAW) along with $10,000 and a {{{Chevrolet}}} {{{pickup}}} truck.

With the completion of the Maui event, we now know the qualifiers for the ASP Women’s World Tour in 2008.

The top 10 from this season:
Gilmore, Stephanie AUS
Mulanovich, Sofia PER
Lima, Silvana BRA
Cornish, Samantha AUS
Beachley, Layne AUS
Donohoe, Amee AUS
Hedges, Chelsea AUS
Miley-Dyer, Jessi AUS
Woods, Rebecca AUS
Bartels, Melanie HAW

Joining them will be the Top 6 from the ASP WQS:
Silva, Jacqueline BRA
Abubo, Megan HAW
Redman-Carr, Melanie AUS
Petroni, Karina USA
Brooke, Serena AUS
Atherton, Nicola AUS

These 16 along with one remaining wildcard will be the ASP Women’s World Tour Top 17 seeds.

On the Foster’s ASP World Tour, even though the Billabong Pipeline Masters is only at the equal 17th stage, there have been some major changes.

Neco Padaratz (BRA) and Chris Ward (USA) have been able to replace a 33rd with at least a 17th, and now look safe in the ASP World Tour Top 27. However, this means others have dropped and they are Phil MacDonald (AUS) and Adriano de Souza (BRA). Adriano is safe as he can use his ASP WQS rating, but Macca needs to make it out of his heat with Adrian Buchan (AUS) to be sure.

Others on the Foster’s ASP World Tour that are still going and could change things around are Greg Emslie (ZAF), Cory Lopez (USA), Josh Kerr (AUS), Troy Brooks (AUS), Bernardo Miranda (BRA), Dayyan Neve (AUS) and Fredrick Patacchia (HAW) all with a chance of making the ASP World Tour Top 27 with a finals slot. Obviously, they all can’t make the final, but a couple could and if they do, some of the current ASP WQS Top 15 are in trouble. They are Nic Muscroft (AUS) and Luke Munro (AUS).
