The local boys call this type of wave an "Albee wave" — looks like crap, windy, maybe dry, but with a big ole air section.

Hank may be Maui's Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde - quiet and unassuming on land, add water and you discover a different animal.

Post-session poke bowls...no reason to rush when you're just going to be stuck behind rubber-necking tourists anyway.

    Last pic “Shooting the Rainbow” – if the surfer looks back over his shoulder after “shooting off” the top of the wave – the sun about where it is in the pic – he should see an explosive “Rainbow” of prismatic colors caused by the “fan” of water thrown up by his board in a “Nike” swoosh. Islander’s call it Liliʻuokalani’s Tears.

    And BTW – it’s difficult to do. Not many are “allowed” to see her tears as -(Liliʻuokalani) cry for her people. Bejeweled are they and can then face “Jaws” and live. Hawaiian Warriors did it, but only one Haole’ has done it in the darkness and survived without a scratch. It is said she has brought the sudden influx of Irukandji box jelly to Honolulu inlets and a full moon brings them towards shore. True Hawaiian’s are immune to death from it – but Haoli’s will die from the excruciating pain. (More so from the muscular contractions while in deeper waters.) Normally seen off Australia and NZ – the changes in the waters of her Great Islands will teach those who usurped her and paid no attention to her ancient ancestors or to the volcano’s of her lands. They should return them to the people who came from the West to the Shores of Maui where the demi-God slowed the sun and when last Haleakala erupted. She foretold that Kilauea will erupt until Loihi comes forth to take up the battle for her people. Only she – a Queen of long standing – or her (translated as “kith” and “kin”) can hold back Kilauea’s fury and allow the bounty of their newly formed earth to provide sustenance. {~ Of course this was 50 or so yrs ago and mostly likely a great deal of Wauwi was being passed about.}
