Clark Foam didn’t exactly have a welcome mat on its doorstep. They never talked to the press. And its doors remained vaulted shut to outsiders for the majority of its existence. And because of this, the blank making process has long been a mysterious, monopolized process that few understand. Now, thanks to the newly liberated foam industry, Scott Saunders of Just Foam is able to open his doors to SURFING Magazine and allow us to take a peek into the production of a surfboard blank. The work that goes in before the shaping may surprise you.
