Oceanside Pier north side had no one out this morning. The south side was packed though.

Eric Geiselman charging the dreaded end-section floater. A good way to kill your knee or blow out an ankle and never even feels satisfying to pull.

Still uncrowded at this point but don’t worry, it didn’t last long.

Gabe Garcia blowin' some tail at O-Side.

A terrible hangover and June Gloom (aka March-September Gloom) was not enough to keep me from swimming out at good-to-epic Newport with Brett Simpson and Michael Dunphy.

Some super fun peaks coming in this day.

Water smeared all over the port but Simpo went HAM for me here.

Cruised up to Rincon for the first time with some of the boys. So packed with people but what a great wave.

Conner Coffin was ripping. You can tell he’s spent some time out there.

Super impressed with Balaram Stack too. He’s still a little bit unknown but that won’t last long.

Kolohe lucked into one of the better tubes of the day.

Damien Hobgood was putting on a clinic out there for backside surfing.

Went to Josh Kerr’s movie premiere of Kerrazy Kronicles on Wednesday night and then got to witness it in person. We’ll be running some photos in the mag of him from this session, no doubt.

Definite Facebook profile pic for this kid on the shoulder of Conner’s hack.

Damo and Kerr are surfaholics. They had their wetsuits on in the Subway parking lot waiting for the rest of the crew to get food. Psyching for this before-dark session.

Stayed at Dillon Perillo’s house and went back north the next morning.

Everyone is doing slob air reverses these days so Dillon switches it up with a lien.

Balaram is doing some crazy spins on these backside airs. I expect a Kustom Airstrike entry from him doing one of these this year.

Scotty Hammonds on a sucked up reef patch during the evening session.

Justin Unsworth locks in.
So this means if I don’t see a shot of me in this gallery you have me down for a 2 page spread or cover. yeeeeeew #winning
sick photos!
HAM!!!!!!!
Your water shots are a joke. I cannot believe that you are on staff at SURFING. Considering the magazines rich history of working with innovative water photographers, you should hang your head in shame. And yes, your “A” water shots also suck.
