SURFING MAGAZINE’S LAST RIDE ART SHOW

Wine. Cheese. Art dudes. Chick punk bands. The Fletcher family. What more do you need for a successful debut of The Herb Garden, Herbie Fletcher’s new gallery in the back of SURFING Headquarters? Clearly nothing as last night’s Last Ride art show was a smashing success for all who attended. SURFING Magazine’s Last Ride column has attracted a growing number of noteworthy artists in the past two years, and this was our chance to thank them and show off just how talented they really are. Works from Wolfgang Bloch, Kevin Ancell, Scott Richards, Alex Knost, Ryan Hitzelll, Peter McBride, Dustin Ortiz, Ben Brough, Ephraim Chui, Todd St. John and Gary Benzel, Dibi Fletcher, Herbie Fletcher, Steve Sherman, Bob Gilanyi and Chato Aganza adorned the walls of Fletcher’s warehouse-turned-studio, as Mike Aho’s talented band Sounder set the groove just right. Then, as the wine and Tecates continued to flow, a mystery all-girl band took the mics and really let loose. Thanks to all who made the night possible, including Volcom, Astrodeck, Herbie, Dibi, Dawn and the SURFING staff, Four Graces Wine and all the artists. Be sure to check the photo gallery here and go to www.volcom.com for more coverage.
