You can tell how much time Adriano has put in out at Bells. He really utilizes every section to the max.

Jordy Smith was the best surfer in this event. There's just no other way to put it. But again he settles for less than 1st and underachieves.

Don't think this guy needed much more energy but why not have another Red Bull anyway?

I'm sorry I'm not sorry! Adriano shook that bell till it broke. Who can blame him?

Adriano deserves it. He never gives up. And is always focused. Excelent competitor, bring a more emotional approach for the competition. Misunderstood sometimes. He should have a better support from a big surf company. Unfortunatly, it seems that sponsoring him is not a good business. Congratulations Adriano, for everything you are doing for the surf world tour.

Karma is a bitch and life isn’t fair. The push back for Brazilians not getting sponsored is bad business in the U.S., Hawaii, Australia and other places due to the fact that Brazilians are the most hated of all surfers. Why is that? Have you ever been out in an uncrowded lineup with a mellow crew all sharing waves when a pack of Brazilians paddle out and all start to back paddle everyone? If you have not experienced that then you have not surfed for long. A few bad apples ruins the whole bunch. Love the Brazilian passion but some times it is way over the top. Why did OAKLEY drop Adriano for 2013? You would have to ask OAKLEY. Seems strange to drop him but maybe due to the world-wide hatred of Brazilian surfers. It’s cool to leave your girlfriends behind with us though.

  3. Aussie Aussie says:

Adriano rules. Brazilians rules. Every one is afraid when a “pack of brazilians” gets in the water. I can understand u faggots.

Finally. the door of bias has been blown open and we got to see a surf Contest based on surfing talent, and nothing else. Rad. Equally memorable was watching Jordy tear apart 10 ft surf with a power and grace I haven’t seen since A.I. What an amazing event! Game-changing in many ways, because both the Men’s and Women’s tour is packed with talent now. Congrats to Adriano, and Nat, our Santa Cruz superstar in the making, as well as Carissa and Tyler. They have also blown away the view that women don’t surf as exciting as men… Because they just did.

  5. Jose Silva says:

We are all different. Adriano is nowhere near as likable as Felipe or Alejo. Felipe’s twitter is hilarious. Adriano is a very bronco type of guy, reminds me of Andy’s attitude a little bit. He can be humble once he calms down (see his speech), but yesterday’s celebration had a hint of aggressiveness, maybe due to the loneliness that stems from his warrior attitude.

  6. Ben says:

ADS won fair square, though I thought Jordy should’ve got the semifinal nod (I also thought Parko won his heat). Whatever, he ripped, and I wasn’t the least bit surprised he won.

  7. scumbag steve says:

Can somone explain to me how someone “Deserves” to win an event? Or a title for that matter (Parko)?
I hear people say Taj “Deserves” to win title now. That Adriano “Deserved” to win bells because he shows up weeks before everyone else, has been for years, and tries his best. Well Fuck that!
Nobody deserves shit unless they are surfing better than the other competitor(s) in that specfic heat. The end.

  8. Pat O'Brazzo says:

Ok, the photo captions cracked me up. Write something “editor worthy” next time. Adriano killed it. Stop whining you cry babies.
Brazilian surfing is changing the game, we’re here to stay. Guess what’s coming next? Dare you to bet on another Ozzie(or the same lame one) wining the world title.
PS:Jordy should go play basketball or something…
