    @ dan phelps: all jimmy did in his captions was mention in 3 images that in order to photograph / video in this region of mexico it will cost you $800.00. that’s it. he did not mention nor disparage the local surfers and “surf guides” who, in fact have managed to institute a mob tax and effectively run an extortion operation on traveling surfers with at least some kind of government consent for, most probably, a kick-back of some kind. for decades traveling surfers of all nationalities have visited this country injecting plenty of discretionary income into local owned businesses, both large and small, while also leaving behind warehouses full of boards, clothing and surf products of every kind to the locals since gringos have been going there en masse. i have traveled to mexico many times and find the overwhelming majority kind hearted, extremely friendly and super helpful should you need assistance of almost any kind- something these nuevo banditos of barra are most definitely not. now THAT is some kinda bullshit …
