The Happening

You could tell by the size of the goblets filled with red wine that it was going to be a hip night. The surf world’s most inspired artists, photographers, musicians and filmmakers all came out to the Orange County museum of Art to display their works and listen to some good tunes. And we mean “ALLLL” — the place was packed. With intimate live performances by Matt Costa, Money Mark (from the Beastie Boys), White Buffalo, Rocco Deluca and the Burden (who came straight from playing the Tonight Show with Jay Leno), and many others, the night transformed into a hipster’s paradise. Works of art and photography by the likes of Wolfgang Bloch, Thomas Campbell, Joe Curren, Alex Knost and hoards of others graced the posh walls of the museum. Thomas Campbell’s single fin surfboard with a fin shaped like a scythe was a crowd favorite.

Located smack dab in the middle of Orange County, the museum was filled with beautiful girls, inspiring art pieces and cruisey tunes all weekend, making it the place to be both Friday and Saturday night. Here are a few photos from The Happening in case you missed it. —Travis Ferr
