Last Thursday and Friday, 64 of the east coast’s top surfers gathered in Jacksonville for the first ever Pabst Blue Ribbon Pro to battle it out for a piece of the $10,000 purse. It just so happened to coincide with the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football game between the Jaguars and undefeated Colts, which made things that much more fun. Fresh off a WCT Injury Wildcard snub, Gabe Kling stepped off the plane from Hawaii into a car headed straight for Jacksonville Pier. Warm, firing Pipeline to cold, choppy Florida. Not the easiest of transitions, but Gabe ended up placing 5th and he got to attend the Jags game in the process. Well worth the hassle. |

That's one hell of a trophy. It was made from NASCAR Driver Brian Vickers' wrecked car. On top of 4 G's, Gorkin also won a VIP pass to the Daytona 500 courtesy of Red Bull this February. |
