You know those days when the waves are so damn perfect that you don’t leave the ocean for 10 straight hours? These days happen once a year in most places, once every decade in others. The Superbank, on the other hand, looked like this for a week straight during the Cyclone Winston swell. 1,000 yards of crystalline cylinders thundered down the sand-bottomed point in rhythmic succession. Everyone was fried by day three, but the waves kept coming, so the surfers kept surfing. Despite the rampant crowds, everyone seemed to get a piece of it, even if it meant sharing a tube with your friend.
