I Think A Bird Just Surfed Teahupo’o?

“Surf,” as a verb, has no concrete definition. Does it count as surfing if you bring a board in the water and paddle around on it for a little while? Do you have to catch a wave in order to surf? Do you have to get to your feet on a wave in order to surf? Do you have to get barreled in order to surf? Does anyone care?

We don’t. That’s why we’re claiming that this bird surfs. At Teahupo’o, nonetheless. The feathered phantom has more balls than your average QSer out there. Watch the video and see for yourself.

PS – Here’s an official power ranking of the top 3 birds in the history of surfing.

Big bird
Solid style and really good on rail, but not proficient at anything above the lip. Which is ironic, being a bird and all.

Larry Bird
Tenacious competitor. All passion, pure heart. His won three NBA WSL World Titles in his career.

Peter Mel
His nickname is the condor. Get it?
