Skeleton Bay is a fickle beast.
Rumor has it, she’s only broken twice this year — once in April, and again about a week ago. That makes João Guedes one of the lucky few to have ridden the magical lefthander in 2016.
The Portuguese fella had been watching the maps for months and months to no avail. Yet, near the end of Skeleton Bay’s winter season, a big, purple kidney popped up on the satellites. With plenty of size and just enough west in it, the swell marched into the bay and delivered one day of pumping 6 foot tubes. João embraced every second of it.
