Mason Ho never ceases to amaze.
And, in the same light, he never fails to surprise. He’ll ride a 5’6″ twin fin at massive sunset and a 6’7″ channel-bottom gun at two-foot V-Land. It’s this very dynamism that makes the young Hawaiian so damn endearing.
In this clip Mase embraces the channel-bottom — a historically prevalent design concept that had seen major decline in the 21st century, only to regain steam in recent years. Mason takes his ridged craft to walls big and small, both in his hometown of the North Shore and all the way to Uluwatu in Bali. The board is certainly a little big for most of the waves he’s riding, but he still finds a way to make it look exceptionally fun and functional. Such is the wizardry of Mason Ho.
