Matt Meola won $100,000 last night. Thanks to his out-of-nowhere video segments, the Maui 21-year-old beat Clay Marzo, Pete Devries, John Florence, Gabriel Villaran and Craig Anderson to win Taylor Steele’s first Innersection. Matt was presented with an oversize check and a Corona shower at the Komune Resort on the Gold Coast. We’re pretty sure he’s still partying. When he sobers up, we’ll get his reaction to the win, and ask him what he’s going to do with the new six-figure deposit. In the meantime, check the clip above for a reminder of why Matt just got so paid.

Stoked! Glad I could be a part of this. Congrats MATT!
Love the hair Matt!
sick, yet too laybacky
Epic. So many amazing waves in that section. His surfing is so creative. Much deserved.
Matt’s a great surfer (even though I don’t really like his style at all), but the video is quite unremarkable. I saw a bunch of Innersection submissions that were much more interesting than this one.
We want more! More, I tell ya, MORE!
so good.
Awesome move on the waves..it’s like he is “one” with the water! Way to go dude!
really sick part gremaso !
Matt, Congratulations…I didn’t realize you had won until I watched the new Intersection Video. Guess what? You get my vote again! Awesome!
